Pitching: Colorado. Their ERA's are inflated a bit by pitching home games at elevation. They still had the league's best ERA over the second half of the season - that's scary.

Defense: Colorado. I'd say this was baseball's best defensive team since the Orioles in the late 60's/early 70's, but that might be an understatement since Colorado set the major league record in fielding percentage.

Hitting: Boston. Power beats batting average/speed in World Series games.

One caveat on pitching: Before the post-season extended all the way to November, having one or two star starters mattered more than the overall strength of a pitching staff. But aces like Bob Gibson made 3 starts in the Series back then. I wouldn't be too confident saying the Rockies pitching has an edge over two starts by Beckett, even if Beckett didn't pitch very well against the Rockies. I'd give the Rockies a slight edge at best.

Try www.rent.com.

We were set to be transferred to Ft. Carson, and one week before we were to leave, orders were changed. I had already found an apartment and a job. I learned a long time ago with the military that unless my butt was actually at that location, I had no idea if it was going to actually end up there or not. This was 15 years ago, though. And, if I remember correctly, most 2 bedroom apartments (which is what I was looking at) were in the $400-500 range 15 years ago.

Do a search on rent.com for properties around Fort Carson. You'll find a ton of apartments broken down by distance from Ft. Carson. AVOID zip codes 80909 and 80910 as they are less than fantastic neighborhoods. Griffis Blessing manages a ton of properties in Colorado Springs and they really take care of their residents so if you can rent one of their apartments you won't be disappointed.

Close by apartments that come to mind are Colony Hill Apartments 2bedroom/1 bath; 1000 sq. ft./ under $600. Pool and playground.

Hunter's Meadow.2/1; 730 sq. ft. Under $600; pool and playground.

Skyway Village. 2bed/2 bath: 920 sq. ft; under $600; pool, no playground but close to Bear Creek Park.

I've lived in Colorado Springs for over 15 years and currently live close enough to Ft. Carson to hear their artillery training so feel free to e-mail me with any questions about the area, certain neighborhoods, schools, parks, etc.

Breckenridge is a really good all around resort, the ski town is really cool and hip and it has really good runs, a good park, and some gets decent powder.

Keystone is also cool because it has night runs open, and it also has a good ski town.

However my personal favorite is winter park/ mary jane, it usually gets the best snow (in my opinion) and has the best back bowls, and tree riding. It also has some of the best scenery in my opinion. their park is really good too.

But if you are looking for a less crowded area, fast lift lines, a quick commute and cheaper lift tickets, and are into rails and jumps, you should check out echo mountain park. You will see alot of pros here, and often people are doing video or mag shoots. The drive up is always less crowded, and its 45 minutes from denver. Plus its by evergreen which is what the show "everwood" on the wb was based off of. I think Echo and evergreen are more of a "true" colorado experience, but it is more for park riding.

Whatever you do, unless you are a rich texan skier, or lindsay lohan, stay away from aspen. Its super expensive and thier riding is no better than anywhere else.

Anyways, I dont know if this helped at all, most resorts actually are pretty similar in that they have decent snowboarding, provide good green and blue runs, and a cool ski town. But the defining line depends on what kind of riding you want to do, whether it be groomers, backcountry style riding, powder, park riding or what not.

Just have fun out there

(oh yeah and if you are renting or buying gear, its always cheaper in denver)

well she refinanced the house she probably got about 35k and if that is the case then he had to know about it. The mortgage payments had to go up and I'm sure he noticed that. If he is listed on the house then he would of had to sign documents saying it was OK. I think your friend is playing dumb! Tell him to work some overtime.

Your choosing the wrong year to come here because we have like no snow yet. We usually have snow in the beginning of October. Go 60 miles west of denver and you will find lots of ski resorts they all are open and you should see Keystone, Breckenridge, A-Basin, vail and Copper. They are all good but the best is at A-Basin.It has been open for like a month so it has the most runs open.
